Success in Tough Competition: Three of Our Researchers Awarded GACR Grants

2 Dec 2025

We are pleased to announce that the Czech Science Foundation (GACR), the primary source of funding for basic research in the Czech Republic, has decided to support the research projects of three of our colleagues.

This achievement is particularly significant this year. The success rate for project applications reached a historic low, with funding granted to only 14% of submitted projects. The fact that three of our representatives succeeded in this highly competitive selection process is a testament to the high quality of their research proposals.

Supported Projects:

  • Lubomír Kopeček and his team will dedicate their research to: Party Crisis and Party Survival in Central European Democracies.

  • Roman Chytilek succeeded with his project: Single-issue Voters in Multiparty Systems.

  • Peter Spáč will focus on: The Shifting Role of Gender in Politics: Representation, Retention, and Public Perception.

We congratulate our colleagues and their teams and wish them every success in their research.
